What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cybersecurity Analyst position at Butler Snow LLP?
The Security Analyst is an entry level position responsible for protecting the company's computer systems and networks. They will monitor, detect, investigate, analyze, and respond to security events. The Security Analyst is also tasked with ensuring that the company's security controls are effective and up-to-date.
Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor security access and perform security monitoring to identify any potential risks or breaches.
- Conduct security assessments through vulnerability testing and risk analysis.
- Perform regular audits to ensure security practices are compliant.
- Develop risk management assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate security plans with outside vendors.
- Conduct security awareness training
- Respond to internal tickets
Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as CompTIA Security , CEH, or similar is preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Security Analyst or similar role.
- Knowledge of security systems and understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
- Familiarity with web-related technologies and network/web related protocols.

- Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge: Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
- Skills: Ability to analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Abilities: Skilled in incident response, disaster recovery, and scripting security automation.

What you bring:
- 1-2 years of experience in a cybersecurity role or related field. Experience with security systems and endpoint security solutions is a plus.
