Barback - Butler Street Derby

Butler Street Derby is a brand new bar and restaurant opening soon in the hot Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh! We're seeking energetic and hardworking Barbacks to join our opening team and contribute to our vibrant atmosphere.

About Us:

Located just steps from the Strip District, Butler Street Derby promises to be Lawrenceville's premiere nightlife and dining destination. Our multi-million dollar renovation features:

• Stylish indoor and outdoor bar areas
• Large outdoor patio with a bar
• State-of-the-art sound and lighting for our dance floor
• Brand new kitchen for our crave-worthy food menu
• Event spaces for parties and private dining

We'll offer a fun, high-energy vibe at night with DJ events, dancing and signature cocktails. During the day, we'll have more of a laid-back restaurant atmosphere with creative American fare and party brunches on the weekends.

Barback Job Responsibilities:

The following list represents the primary duties of the Barback position, but is not all-inclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:

• Maintain beer and liquor supply for all bars by restocking bottles and kegs
• Slice and replenish fruit garnishes, mixers, and other bar supplies for bartenders
• Retrieve and stock ice for bartenders during busy shifts
• Clean and re-stock bar tools, glassware, and supplies
• Assist bartenders in keeping bar areas clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times
• Run glassware and beer mugs through dishwasher and ensure a constant supply of clean glassware
• Follow all alcohol service policies and procedures
• Assist in setting up and breaking down bar areas for events and service
• Monitor inventory levels and report low stock to management
• Maintain cleanliness of bar storage areas and walk-in coolers
• Assist with bar preparation tasks such as preparing simple syrups and cutting garnishes
• Support bartenders during high-volume periods by running food, clearing glasses, and assisting customers as needed
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all bar areas
• Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions
• Bus tables throughout the restaurant and outdoor areas
• Run food orders from the kitchen to customers as needed
• Take out garbage and maintain cleanliness of waste disposal areas
• Assist with general cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the venue
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management to ensure smooth operation of the establishment

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Positive attitude and strong team player mentality
• Good communication skills and ability to work well under pressure
• Prior barback or restaurant experience preferred
• Knowledge of common bar tools, glassware, and basic drink ingredients a plus
• Willingness to learn and grow within the role
