Primary responsibility will be calling on new and existing accounts to build and maintain relationships, to develop and grow business. Inquire as to their needs, offer solutions to challenges, be diligent in follow-up. Provide appropriate, timely information on various products, programs, and/or services offered by the company; build strong customer relationships and vendor partnerships. Generate leads and sales through prospecting, cold-calling, add-on, and up-selling. Ensure repeat business by providing excellent customer service to new AND existing customers. Represent the company in an ethical and professional manner. Contribute to a dedicated team atmosphere that is committed to providing our customers with a great experience by demonstrating our Core Values of Exceptional Service, Continuous Improvement/Forward Thinking, Industry Expertise, Respect, and Mutual Profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make personal sales calls at the customer's establishments on a regular basis. Introduce and educate the customer as to product lines, programs and services offered, product availability, pricing, delivery, etc. Determine customer needs, offer solutions to challenges, be diligent on follow-up and follow-through. Prepare and conduct presentations as appropriate.
- Actively & routinely pursue new customers and/or opportunities. Build/Maintain strong customer relationships, develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer base.
- Provide job quotes as needed. Follow up to gain sale or determine where we were on lost sales.
- Build strong vendor relationships. Negotiate for competitive pricing for quotes.
- Continuously update product knowledge. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Understand product applications and help customers in their selections.
- Enter customer orders as needed.
- Resolve customer complaints timely and effectively.
- Socialize with and entertain customers where appropriate.
- Keep customers informed of all relevant company policies, regarding purchases, returns, credit terms, etc.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to effectively service our customers. Negotiate pricing to produce competitive job quotes; Organize joint sales calls and attend with vendors to secure mutual business.
- Attend conferences, trade shows, and other customer/sales functions as appropriate.
- Provide excellent customer service, performing any functions necessary to take care of customers.
- Effectively utilize appropriate resources and technology to enhance ability to effectively service customers, including email, quotations software, etc.
- Conduct self in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Treat external and internal customers and associates with courtesy and respect.
- Provide branch support when needed/requested.
- Perform all transactions and interactions with honesty and integrity at all times.
- Assist in year-end physical inventories at various branch locations as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous Outside Sales experience. Proven ability to prospect, determine needs, ask for the order.
- Electrical product knowledge strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing new business and generating sales leads.
- Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information.
- Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills.
- Effective people skills to deal with customers, owners, buyers, employees.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to exude professionalism, tact, diplomacy and sensitivity.
- Computer aptitude. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, or other appropriate email software.
