What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Financial Services Instructor position at Butler Tech?
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic instructor to work with high school students. This instructor will teach Finance Foundations, Strategic Entrepreneurship, Fundamentals of Finance, Financial Accounting, and Corporate Accounting. Students will participate in the Business Professionals of America career-technical student organization.
Great candidates for this role include:
- Currently licensed teachers with a passion for financial services
- Industry professionals with related experience (outlined below) who are willing to pursue Ohio's alternative teacher licensure process
Requirements
- Current Ohio State Board of Education licensure in an eligible area OR bachelor’s degree AND valid Ohio Resident Educator, Professional, Permanent or Five-Year Career-Technical teaching license in any field AND passes the OAE content-knowledge test for Business Education (008) OR high school diploma AND at least 5 years of relevant work experience OR bachelors degree in a related area AND at least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
- Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
- State-issued identification card with photograph;
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
- Acceptable criminal record
