POSITION Agriculture Instructor
LOCATION Madison Junior/Senior High School
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Agriculture Instructor is responsible for the delivery of quality education that adheres to required curriculum standards. Students will participate in the career-technical student organization FFA and FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience programs are embedded in the curriculum.
For the 2025 – 2026 school year, this instructor will teach an Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources class to students in Grades 7 – 12. This first course in the career field is an introduction to Agricultural and Environmental Systems. Additional courses will be added in 2026 – 2027.
QUALIFICATIONS
START DATE August 2025
SALARY $49,667 – 103,605 (placement based upon experience and education)
BENEFITS Includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; tuition reimbursement
WORK YEAR 185 days; 7.5 hours/day

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of one year related agriculture industry employment;
- Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio State Board of Education or ability to obtain proper licensure. Applicants must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING requirements to be considered for this position:
- Current ODE licensure in one of the following:
- VO/CT Agriscience (010100)
- VO/CT Production Agriculture (010104)
- VO/CT/CW Agribusiness (010200)
- OR meets all three criteria below:
- Holds a bachelor’s degree;
- Holds a valid Ohio Resident Educator, Professional, Permanent or Five-Year Career-Technical teaching license in any field;
- Passes (or has passed) the OAE content-knowledge test for Agriscience (005); AND
- Current ODE licensure in one of the following:
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
- Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
- Valid drivers’ license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance;
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
- Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.
