Butler Tech is expanding its Aviation program and seeking an engaging instructor to join our team. Over the next 2 years we will hire additional instructors to meet the demands of this rapidly growing field.
| GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Aviation Instructor is primarily responsible for the delivery of quality education that adheres to Ohio Department of Education curriculum standards. The Instructor employs effective teaching practices to ensure that all students are equipped for success.
The ideal candidate for this role will have industry and/or education experience in the field of Aviation. Based on these credentials, Butler Tech can guide our selected candidates through obtaining teacher licensure.
| HIRING GOALS
We seek an instructor with Airframe & PowerPlant (A&P) focus; however, we will also entertain candidates with expertise in the fields of Aerospace Engineering or Drone Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), as these are our hiring goals for 2025 - 2026.
We are flexible regarding the start date for this position and welcome applicants who are available to begin in the 2024-2025 school year or at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

| LOCATION Temporarily housed at Fairfield Township Campus for 2024 – 2025; Will relocate to newly constructed classroom space at Hook Field at Middletown Airport in 2025 - 2026
| SALARY Based upon experience and education ($49,667 – 103,605)

| QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) or ability to obtain proper licensure. Applicants must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING requirements to be considered for this position:
- Current ODE licensure in an Aviation, Transportation, or Engineering area; OR
- Work experience and/or educational attainment as outlined below in addition to willingness and ability to complete Ohio’s alternative teacher licensure process:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the content area and 2 years of relevant work experience; OR
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree outside the content area and 5 years of relevant work experience; OR
- Associate’s Degree or 60 semester hours in subject area and 3 years of related work experience
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in primary area of training are a plus;
- Previous teaching experience in academic environment and/or on-line teaching preferred;
- Ability to interact successfully with academic as well as business and regulatory stakeholders;
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
- State-issued identification card with photograph;
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance, and acceptable criminal record
