Job Summary
Under the direction of the Site / Program Administrator or their designee, Butte County Office of Education (BCOE) Teachers will provide effective educational programs for students in alternative settings in independent study, special education, community school, or juvenile court school programs. In order to support successful transitions into subsequent educational levels and the workforce, teachers will assess the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of their students; develop safe, consistent, and nurturing learning environments; establish positive school-home relationships; utilize effective instructional strategies, techniques, and culturally relevant curriculum to support student achievement.
To meet the needs of all students, BCOE Teachers will be part of a systematic collaborative process to analyze student data, to inform instructional practices that result in improved student learning and outcomes. BCOE Teachers must use an educational process that blends teaching knowledge with student performance, and demonstrate knowledge of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession and the California Academic Content Standards. BCOE Teachers will be expected to grow as educational professionals to attain greater confidence in working with diverse learners.
