Position Overview: The MPC is responsible for providing care and support to children at Bethany House on Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 8pm, focusing on their mental health and overall well-being. This role involves creating and implementing activities that promote emotional wellness, assisting with everyday concerns, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Support:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to children, addressing their emotional and behavioral needs.
- Assist children in developing coping skills and positive behaviors.
- Activity Planning:
- Develop and implement therapeutic activities and programs aimed at enhancing mental health and social skills.
- Organize recreational and educational activities that promote engagement and teamwork.
- Monitoring and Assessment:
- Observe and document children’s behavior and progress in relation to their mental health goals.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to assess and adjust care plans as needed.
- Daily Care:
- Assist children with daily routines, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Address and resolve any immediate concerns or conflicts that arise.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, educators, and caregivers, to provide comprehensive support.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care strategies.
- Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with children, families, and staff.
- Provide regular updates to families regarding their child’s progress and any concerns.
