Butternut Mountain Farm is a Vermont, family-owned, second-generation company and one of the largest packers of pure maple syrup in the country. We're looking for energetic, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Barrel Washer. What You’ll Do
- Wash and sanitize empty maple syrup barrels to maintain high-quality standards.
- Operate barrel washing and sweet water recovery equipment (training provided).
- Keep accurate records of washed barrels and maintain an organized storage area.
- Move individual barrels using a barrel cart and organize pallets of barrels using forklifts or pallet jacks (forklift experience is a plus, but we’ll train the right person).
- Use basic computer skills to track inventory and ensure everything is properly recorded.
- Identify and report any food safety concerns related to barrel sanitation.
- Become part of a rotation with the other production team members in our Maple Syrup packaging area.

- Strong attention to detail - cleanliness and accuracy are key in this role.
- Forklift experience is a plus, but we will train motivated individuals.
- Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs and frequently lift 35 lbs at or near head height.
- Comfort with standing, lifting, bending, and moving throughout the entire shift.

Schedule:
- 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM
- Support business needs with occasional overtime. (Example: Early Arrival, Fridays)
