Buxmont Academy, a Pennsylvania licensed private academic school, is seeking a math teacher for our Woodlyn campus in Delaware County, PA to work with students grades 7 through 12. If you are a math teacher who enjoys working with at-risk students, has excellent interpersonal skills, and relishes new experiences and learning, this position is for you.
Buxmont Academy has six campuses in southeastern PA and uses restorative practices to encourage students to grow academically and emotionally. Our teachers, counselors, and support staff work together to build a healthy community environment for our students.
Hours for the math teacher position are Monday through Friday, 11am-3pm. Additional hours may be available. Salary is $25 an hour. Buxmont Academy offers a 401K retirement plan, free ACT 48 Credit professional development offerings, an Employee Assistance Program, and the opportunity to receive a free graduate certificate in restorative practices from the IIRP Graduate School. Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor's degree or higher in math education, and either PA teaching certification or the ability to obtain certification. We welcome qualified candidates who are interested in becoming teachers. We also welcome retired teachers who miss being in the classroom!
Required Skills / Abilities for the math teacher role :
- Desire to teach secondary school-aged students and ability to adapt to their developmental status.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high stress situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The capacity to work effectively both independently and with a team.
- Proficient computer skills.
