We are seeking a part-time Social Studies Teacher to join our team. This role provides a unique opportunity to work with students in a restorative learning environment that prioritizes both academic and emotional development.
Buxmont Academy is a licensed private academic school in Pennsylvania dedicated to supporting at-risk students through restorative practices. With 6 campuses in southeastern PA, we create an environment where students thrive academically and emotionally. Our small class sizes and high teacher-to-student ratios allow us to foster meaningful connections and positive growth.
Key Details:
- Hourly Rate: $25/hour
- Work Hours: Up to 29 hours/week
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Location: Sellersville, PA
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a social studies teacher at Buxmont Academy, you will have the opportunity to inspire students in grades 7-12 to think critically, develop a strong understanding of history, and grow both academically and emotionally. You'll create engaging and personalized lessons that foster academic success while using restorative practices to build trust, empathy, and community within the classroom. Qualifications
- Holds a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Social Studies Education or history related field, and either a PA teaching certification or the ability to obtain certification.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Is passionate about history, education, and student success.
- Demonstrates flexibility in lesson planning and experience in differentiating instruction for diverse learners.
