Our special education teachers are dedicated and caring! They provide necessary support to both students and their team. They promote a healthy community and encourage positive change. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm. Salary starts at $42,000 / year. Buxmont Academy has six campuses in southeastern PA and uses restorative practices to encourage students to grow academically and emotionally. Our teachers, counselors, and support staff work together to build a healthy community environment for our students.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
Primary responsibilities for the special education teacher position include :
- Providing 1-on-1 and small group tutoring to students grades 7-12;
- Creating and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEP); and
- Conducting IEP meetings.
Qualified candidates are required to hold a bachelor's degree or higher in education and / or special education, and either special education certification or the ability to obtain certification. We welcome qualified candidates who are interested in becoming teachers. We also welcome retired teachers who miss being in the classroom!
