BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking an Application Operations Engineer. This is a full-time, remote role with travel to other Government or Contractor facilities as required. The average workday is 8 hours and the window in which those 8 hours may be scheduled is between 6:00am hours and 6:00pm hours eastern time, Monday through Friday except for Government Holidays with the core hours (9am to 3pm) being covered.
As an Application Operations Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining applications that support or enhance the operation of technology solutions for government functions. The position requires a deep understanding of application performance, scalability, and availability, and involves managing batch operations, monitoring system performance, and resolving incidents to ensure reliable and efficient operation of applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule, manage, and support applications and batch operations across all environments.
- Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and efficiency of government applications.
- Monitor applications and troubleshoot any incidents related to application and batch operations.
- Use triaging and monitoring tools to oversee the performance of both applications and supporting infrastructure.
- Conduct analysis, problem definition, and develop data fixes as needed to resolve application issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a related technical discipline; OR (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.
- 5 years of experience in information systems design.
- 3 years of experience as an application operations engineer on large-scale distributed applications, with knowledge of relevant computer technologies.

This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only in accordance with federal contract requirements. Applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship (such as a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or Certificate of Naturalization) prior to employment.
