BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Lead. This is a full-time, remote role with travel to other Government or Contractor facilities as required. The average workday is 8 hours and the window in which those 8 hours may be scheduled is between 6 : 00am hours and 6 : 00pm hours eastern time, Monday through Friday except for Government Holidays with the core hours (9am to 3pm) being covered.
The Quality Assurance (QA) Lead is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of data migration and financial system implementations. This role leads the development and execution of test plans, oversees validation processes, and ensures that the migration from Sage to Microsoft Dynamics 365 meets all Commonwealth compliance and security requirements. The QA Lead will also play a critical role in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and the implementation of both automated and manual testing methodologies.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and validation processes for financial data migration and system integration.
Ensure alignment of testing efforts with Commonwealth financial compliance standards, GASB requirements, and Section 508 / WCAG accessibility policies.
Define and execute functional, integration, regression, and performance testing strategies for the Dynamics 365 implementation.
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Migration Specialists, and Developers to define and refine testing requirements.
Implement manual and automated testing methodologies to validate system functionality and data accuracy.
Oversee data reconciliation processes to confirm the integrity and accuracy of migrated financial data.
Conduct data validation checks to ensure completeness and accuracy of Chart of Accounts, General Ledger balances, and journal entries.
Develop and manage a Reconciliation Report that identifies and resolves discrepancies between Sage and Dynamics 365 data.
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with finance and business teams to validate system usability and data integrity.
Document, track, and resolve UAT defects and issues, ensuring proper sign-offs from stakeholders.
Ensure the system meets Commonwealth security and financial compliance policies, working closely with Compliance & Security Officers.
Implement automated testing frameworks for financial workflows and API integrations.
Utilize tools such as Azure DevOps, Selenium, Power BI, and Axe DevTools for testing and reporting.
Generate regular reports on test execution results, defect tracking, and compliance metrics for leadership review.
Provide continuous process improvement recommendations to optimize testing workflows.
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Data Validation.
Hands-on experience with testing financial data migration, ERP systems, or accounting software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365).
Strong knowledge of SQL, data reconciliation techniques, and financial reporting standards (GASB preferred).
Experience in UAT facilitation and stakeholder management.
Proficiency in automated testing tools (Selenium, Azure DevOps Test Plans, Power BI, or equivalent).
Knowledge of accessibility testing and compliance standards (WCAG, Section 508).
Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and test-driven development (TDD).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
Certification in ISTQB, CSTE, or Agile Testing methodologies.
Experience working with government agencies or financial institutions.
Experience with cloud-based financial systems and API testing.
Knowledge of Commonwealth financial regulations and data governance policies.
