Purpose
PURPOSE
Based out of our Sarasota premises you will be working within a busy IT function to provide IT service and support primarily to the US area of the business. Primarily responsible for 1 st and 2 nd line support with issues logged within BVIs IT support ticketing system. Project work will also be a part of the role as we look to move forward with the latest technologies and provide a better working environment for our users.
Key Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides (but not limited to) 1 st /2 nd line IT Helpdesk support to the BVI US and International IT operation
- Maintains Helpdesk tickets, prioritizes work, updates steps for corrective action, and communicates with customers any timescales and progress reports as required
- Configures, maintains, and troubleshoots a range of hardware devices including desktops, laptops, printers, IP phones, iPhones, iPads, handheld scanners, and other peripherals
- Deploys, maintains, and troubleshoots client operating systems on desktops and laptops, using imaging technologies
- Conducts software installations and support, including upgrades, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting as required
- Maintains accurate records of hardware assets via the IT Assets Database and co-ordinates with accounts department. Actively participates in the updating of hardware and recycling of old equipment
- Liaises with external suppliers and support providers where required
- Other duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of hardware & software installation and configuration
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Office suite of applications, and Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange administration
- LAN, network access, internet, email, printer support experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and customer service skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and independently
- Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and 5 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Beneficial to have worked in a production environment running legacy OS and equipment (PLCs)
- Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers.
- Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech.
- Regular sitting for extended periods of time.
- May require occasional travel.
