Styropek is the North American leader in the EPS (Expandable Polystyrene) industry and the largest EPS producer on the American Continent. Our certified products are utilized across many applications, including building, packaging, and automotive. We have 7 manufacturing plants and 15 sites in 7 countries and belong to the Alfa-Alpek family. Alfa manages a diversified portfolio of subsidiaries including Alpek which is one of the world’s leading producers of polyester & fibers, and a leader in the polypropylene and expandable polystyrene (EPS) market. The other subsidiaries within Alfa’s portfolio are food products, such as Yoplait®, IT and telecom services such as Axtel.

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Coordinator and Planner for our facility in Painesville, OH.

Styropek’s Painesville plant is located about 30 miles northeast of Cleveland, OH. The site manufactures expandable styrenics products used in the construction and packaging industries.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the planning and coordination of the Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Coordinator and Planner is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of a team of maintenance technicians. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and effectively to maintain and improve the reliability of equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate proficiency of mechanical and electrical systems
• Read and interpret data (procedures, P&IDs, drawings, and technical specifications)
• Supervise and lead a team of Maintenance Technicians
• Communicate and manage daily work orders
• Sign Safe Work Permits
• Maintain and manage the storeroom including shipping and receiving
• Respond to operational issues/outages/performance needs
• Plan and lead annual and intermittent plant outage maintenance activities
• Utilize SAP to manage maintenance department activities, spares/parts management, resources, and contracted labor
• Assist in preventative maintenance plans based on equipment and process needs and work with Reliability Engineer
• Participant in Safety meetings and training
• Knowledge of Electrical Classifications, department classifications, and the significance of these in writing procedures
• Knowledge of Chemical and physical hazards in working process areas and awareness of ISO/QS 9000
• Active use of leading indicators and Incident Learning Process: Safety Interaction System, ILP completion

Qualifications:

• Two-year technical degree with 8 years of related experience preferably in manufacturing OR 10 years combination of post-secondary technical education and related experience OR 10 years progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or technology environment
• Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in the methods, practices, tools, equipment, and safety procedures used in the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrument equipment used in manufacturing facilities
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in engineering standards and preventive maintenance principles and practices; planning methods and tools, including planning and scheduling software
• Proficient with CMMS software, preferably SAP
• Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
