Job Description:
Plan and perform a normal range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys. Work from drawings, route sheets, specifications and instructions to determine operational sequence; set tools in cross slides or tail stock; select and set speeds and feeds according to the type of material and finish requirements; move selector lever or change gears for thread cutting.

Job Description:

Responsibilities
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as Mills, Lathes, saws or grinders.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Calculate basic dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift, push/pull, walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, stoop, climb heights, and in and out of machines.
- Close visual work.
- Ability to periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long durations.
- Work from complex assembly drawings, specifications and instructions to plan work in proper sequences.
- Assemble complex sections of machines or various combinations thereof as indicated by customer specifications.
- Perform assembly operations to exacting tolerances; work with various types of parts including rotating shafts, gear trains, mechanical structures, and sprockets.
- Use measuring instruments to level and align work, detect and eliminate run-out, work to close tolerances with a demand for square, concentricity and parallelism.
- May participate in testing of completed machines
- Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties; provide necessary documentation to drive corrective actions
- May collaborate with other departments to remedy corrective actions or quality issues and to suggest design changes or improvements
- Assist as necessary to maintain proper flow of work through assigned area; participate in training less experienced associates
- Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
- Assist in generating and updating standard work instructions/procedures; train others on proper procedures
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Maintain work areas and equipment in clean, orderly, and safe fashion
- Other duties as assigned
