BW Papersystems is searching for a Machinist that can perform a range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys. In this role you will machine parts to specifications using manual and CNC machine tools such as mills, lathes, saws, and grinders.

BW Papersystems is searching for a Machinist that can perform a range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys. In this role you will machine parts to specifications using manual and CNC machine tools such as mills, lathes, saws, and grinders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
- Perform a range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings, heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Use GD&T principles to interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of standard processes.
- Use mathematical knowledge to calculate location and positioning of features.
- Edit programs, set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools, and many specialized or advanced machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and perform quality control checks of critical features.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments like micrometers, dial bore gauges, and calipers.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment, report and correct and unsafe work practices or conditions immediately.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Multi-task various duties throughout the day; maintain a positive attitude with versatility and flexibility.
- Communicate and interact with various teams and teammates to solve problems independently.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years of experience working in a machine shop environment.
