BW Papersystems is seeking a Machinist to join our team!

BW Papersystems is searching for a Machinist that can perform a range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys. In this role you will machine parts to specifications using manual and CNC machine tools such as mills, lathes, saws, and grinders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
• Perform a range of rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings, heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Use GD&T principles to interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of standard processes.
• Use mathematical knowledge to calculate location and positioning of features.
• Edit programs, set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools, and many specialized or advanced machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process and perform quality control checks of critical features.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments like micrometers, dial bore gauges, and calipers.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas and equipment, report and correct and unsafe work practices or conditions immediately.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Multi-task various duties throughout the day; maintain a positive attitude with versatility and flexibility.
• Communicate and interact with various teams and teammates to solve problems independently.
  
  

Basic Qualifications & Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 years of experience working in a machine shop environment.
