Job Purpose
Machine Operators are expected to perform operator responsibilities within their department. This will include ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are conducted in a safe manner, with a focus on producing quality product within the time required by our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform standard responsibilities as a Machine Operator to include:
- Perform standard responsibilities as a machine operator within the department.
- Daily communication with supervisor, other operators, and other shifts to ensure operational objectives are met.
- Provide continuous improvement ideas for Safety, On-Time Delivery, Quality, Cost Reduction and Efficiency.
- Support and comply with company policies and procedures as applicable.
- Be able to perform parts inspection as listed on the documented procedures and enter data into a computerized collection system.
- Able to clear wire breaks, restring machine, conduct all quality control measurements.
- Able to read and utilize information method master.
- How to enter data in the company computer
- Read micrometer, tin thickness testing.
- Able to string plate machine.
- Demonstrate good housekeeping ability.
- Work in a safe manner.
- Safely handle materials of various sorts.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Teamwork:
Daily communication with Shift Supervisor to be sure objectives are met.
Support and comply with company policies and procedures as applicable.
Demonstrate a positive and supportive attitude.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school or equivalent
- Able to read, write and speak English with reasonable comfort.
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Capable of lifting to 50 lbs.
- Basic math skills
- Available with respect to required work hours.
- Reliable, good work ethic, high integrity, and drug free
- At least 1 year experience operating industrial production equipment preferred.
Working Conditions
- Standard Manufacturing Plant Working Conditions
- 85%-95% of time spend on the shop floor.
Physical Requirements
- The employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand and walk .
- The employee is required to operator a forklift.
