JOB DESCRIPTION – Accounting Clerk
Performs various clerical and routine accounting tasks in support of an operating unit, to include posting entries. Responds to inquiries and contacts other departments and/or vendors to resolve a variety of problems. Assists in performance of various clerical duties.
Associated Tasks
Verify and post details about business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers and databases.
Perform basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.
Maintains in house files, ensuring that records are complete and current
Record information, process, and file forms
Analyzing information from data received in mail
Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing
Abide by all company procedures and accounting principals
Respond appropriately to vendor, client, and internal requests
Match, batch, and code vendor invoices
Requirements:Experience/Skills
Knowledge of basic financial and accounting principles.
Accounting software experience is a plus.
Microsoft Office Applications experience (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with office productivity applications and aptitude for learning new systems.
Training/Education
High School diploma is required, more education and experience is generally preferred.
One or two years of experience in clerical accounting
