JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the production processes within our welding and fabrication facility. This role involves coordinating production activities to meet quality standards and delivery schedules while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
Production Coordination and Oversight:
· Assist in implementing production schedules to meet daily and project deadlines.
· Supervise daily production operations and monitor workflow.
· Communicate and coordinate with the production team to ensure job priorities are understood and executed efficiently.
Team Leadership:
· Directly supervise welders, fabricators, and assemblers.
· Provide hands-on training, coaching, and development opportunities.
· Offer constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
· Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
Quality Assurance:
· Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer requirements.
· Conduct inspections of in-progress and completed products.
· Collaborate with the Production Manager to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Safety and Compliance:
· Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
· Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or incidents.
· Lead and participate in regular safety meetings and training.
Inventory and Resource Management:
· Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and supplies.
· Coordinate with vendors for material deliveries.
· Maintain organized and clean production areas.
Process Improvement:
· Identify and suggest opportunities to improve production processes and efficiency.
· Assist in implementing process improvements and best practices.
Reporting and Documentation:
· Maintain accurate production records, including timekeeping and performance metrics.
· Provide daily updates to the Production Manager on production activities, challenges, and accomplishments.
OTHER DUTIES
Business Ethics: Ensure compliance with Bentley Welding, Inc’s Code of Integrity and Business Ethics in all business dealings.
Occupational Health and Safety: Understand and comply with the company’s Health and Safety policies. Take responsibility for personal safety and contribute to a safe workplace.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
· Proven experience in a production supervisory role within welding or fabrication.
· Strong technical knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
· Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Effective communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes in a shop environment.
- Predominantly in a shop setting with occasional office duties.
- May require overtime to meet project deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
