Position Summary
The Retail Sales Specialist enhances the guest experience by providing exceptional service, sharing product expertise, and promoting Hard Truth’s retail and craft spirits offerings. This position emphasizes guest education on Hard Truth whiskey, craft spirits, and the distilling process, fostering an immersive and memorable experience.
Retail Sales Specialist Key Responsibilities
Guest Engagement:
- Welcome and assist guests, ensuring a positive and informative shopping experience.
- Educate guests about Hard Truth whiskey, craft spirits, and the distilling process.
- Conduct tastings and samples of Hard Truth whiskey and craft spirits, guiding guests through flavor profiles and unique characteristics.
- Promote and explain whiskey flights, encouraging guests to explore the Hard Truth portfolio.
Sales Performance:
- Proactively recommend products to meet guest preferences, upselling whiskey and branded merchandise.
- Achieve and exceed individual and team sales goals through effective product knowledge and guest interaction.
- Product Knowledge:
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Hard Truth brand, distilling techniques, and craft spirits lineup.
- Complete company-provided training on Hard Truth whiskey and distilling to ensure expertise.
- Stay updated on new product launches, seasonal offerings, and promotions.
Merchandise Management:
- Maintain visually appealing retail displays that align with the Hard Truth brand.
- Ensure inventory is accurately stocked, rotated, and priced.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with restaurant and retail teams to promote cross-selling opportunities.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to strengthen knowledge and alignment.
Operations:
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions responsibly.
- Assist with inventory counts and loss prevention efforts.
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years old and have the ability to obtain an Indiana Liquor License.- 1–2 years of retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred.
- Background in hospitality, spirits, or whiskey education is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests.
- Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Enthusiastic about the Hard Truth brand and hospitality industry.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
