Position Overview
Red Baron Transportation is seeking an experienced Yard Spotter to serve as a Lead Night Spotter at our Rincon, GA location. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers around the yard using yard trucks. Reporting directly to the Night Shift Assistant Manager, you will provide guidance to the team and ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently move trailers and containers within the yard.
- Maintain an organized yard to support uninterrupted customer operations.
- Verify all team members report on time and have submitted their Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) at the start of the shift.
- Ensure all team members have signed out radios and are prepared for their tasks.
- Report mechanical issues with equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture by leading by example.
- Adapt to unexpected delays or changes in operational procedures to maintain workflow.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to address challenges promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required for operating yard trucks.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Class A driving or a related role.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check.
- Valid Medical Card and registration with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to transportation regulations.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to address minor vehicle issues.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Proven team building and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
- Demonstrates integrity, common sense, and a strong work ethic.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Benefits and Compensation
- Hourly Pay: $23.50 - $24.00, based on experience.
