BWW LAW GROUP, LLC, an "AV" rated real estate default law firm with offices located in Rockville, MD and Richmond, VA, is seeking dynamic and motivated individuals to join our Richmond, VA team! We are hiring legal support professionals who enjoy a fast-paced environment and challenging work. The Litigation Specialist role supports a team of 7-9 attorneys, will expose the chosen candidate to the full life cycle of the Firm’s files, and will permit the chosen candidate to develop new skills and explore various attributes of our Firm’s practice. This position is full time and based in our Richmond office. Attention to detail is a must to succeed as a part of our team! Our Richmond office provides free employee parking.
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparation of electronic and paper case files;
- Filing documents with the courts (electronically or in paper format depending on jurisdiction);
Facilitate recordation of documents in land records;
- Requesting fee approval from Clients;
- Communicating with accounting department for billing of attorney hourly fees;
- Monitoring remaining hours of fee approval in anticipation of supplemental approval requests;
- Update various client systems during the life of the case file;
- Communicate both internally and externally with clients pertaining to case files;
- Prepare affidavits for attorney execution, monitor execution, and notarize signed affidavits;
- Retrieve and log division mail and deliver/scan to the file and appropriate party;
- Make and receive calls from borrowers and heirs for distribution of proceeds of sales.
Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellent computer and organizational skills, and be able to multitask;
- Must be comfortable working in a high-volume environment and with fixed deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to analyze customer accounts;
- Previous mortgage servicing, real estate, or law firm experience a plus;
- Notary commission or ability and willingness to become a notary public;
- Must be able to work on-site in an office setting;
- High School diploma; College coursework and/or paralegal certification preferred.
