Position Responsibilities
- Lead and Perform stress analyses of nuclear pressure vessels and other highly engineered products.
- Utilize and conduct finite element analysis, custom post-processing software, and closed form analytical techniques.
- Perform and lead standard and advanced structural analysis methods including linear elastic sizing, fatigue, elastic-plastic, fracture mechanics, shock and vibration, and thermal/mechanical.
- Review and lead work for accuracy and compliance with technical requirements.
- Work with members of other engineering disciplines (manufacturing, quality, welding, drafters, thermal-fluids, etc.) in a team environment to generate component designs to meet code requirements and to optimize the design for manufacturability.
- Work closely with on-site manufacturing to resolve real time fabrication related issues.
- Communicate effectively in internal and customer presentations and written technical reports.
- Lead efforts to reduce cost and span of current components.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering.
- 10 years of industry experience.
- Experience in the use of finite element analysis (FEA) software (preferably Abaqus or Ansys).
- Experience in 3D CAD to manipulate design models for analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
- Master’s degree in a technical field
- Working Knowledge of ASME Code Section III and VIII or AISC.
- Experience of computer programming codes (ex. C , Fortran, Python, etc.)
- Program management experience.
