Position Overview
The Quality Control Inspector II ensures that component parts, assemblies and major sub-systems meet internal and customer quality standards.
Responsibilities
Typical Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Reading and understanding blueprints, schematics and working QC instructions
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection/test on parts, assemblies, and major sub-systems
- Maintaining a high level of communication with all departments involved in the manufacturing process
- Ability to use physical dimension test measuring devices, calipers, and micrometers
- Recording inspection and test results in the inspection database
- Document and report on nonconformances
- Working with Excel spreadsheets and use MS Word to create documents such as Quality Inspection Checklists
- Training and mentoring of Quality Control Inspector I.
- Managing calibration of equipment
Required Experience/Qualifications
- AS Degree in a relevant field OR four years of equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years Experience in technical inspection of manufacturing operations and manufacturing technologies, including the use of measurement & test equipment, such as voltmeters, calipers, and micrometers
- Ability to use physical dimension test measuring devices
- Ability to work with Excel spreadsheets and use MS Word to create documents
- Familiarity with ISO or Government quality standards
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings and specifications
- A working knowledge of IPC-A- 610, IPC-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 standards
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
- Work experience or Certificates of Training in Physical dimensional Calibration, Certification of Quality disciplines, TQM, and general knowledge of ISO 9001:2000
- Certified Quality Technician by ASQ; Certified Quality Inspector by ASQ
- Working knowledge of JIRA and CostPoint
