Position Overview
The Sales Engineer will serve as the technical expert and trusted advisor, supporting sales teams in solution development, customer engagement, and technical presentations. This role involves solution architecture, design engineering, and technical pre-sales functions, with a focus on responding to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and shaping customer solutions in networking, cloud, cybersecurity, and automation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to understand customer needs and develop technical solutions that align with business objectives.
- Lead and support technical responses to RFPs/RFIs and develop compelling proposals that highlight differentiated solutions.
- Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) to showcase technical capabilities.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and innovative solutions and use cases, ensuring feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by providing technical guidance on digital modernization, cloud, security, and IT transformation strategies.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, product teams, and sales leadership to develop winning sales strategies.
- Support the transition and implementation of proposed solutions, ensuring smooth handoff to deployment teams.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide thought leadership and strategic recommendations.
Required Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in a pre-sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical sales role.
- Strong technical expertise in telecom, networking, and IT infrastructure.
- Extensive knowledge of Digital Modernization (IP, MPLS, Ethernet, Optical, SD-WAN).
- Familiarity with Zero Trust, SDN, NFV, Cloud, DevSecOps, and Managed Security Services.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Salesforce.com.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and technical writing skills, including proposal development.
- Knowledge of solution selling methodologies and ability to articulate business value.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced sales environment with changing priorities.
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
- Active SECRET Security Clearance or higher preferred.
