By Light is seeking an experienced Wired and Wireless LAN Systems Engineer to perform network design, development, installation / configuration, packaging, testing, implementing, and Tier 3 level troubleshooting of multi-vendor network-related equipment, including Aruba and Cisco, in support of government solutions ranging from single stand-alone to large-scale enterprise environments.

The primary responsibility for this position includes all efforts involved with all engineering (designing, developing, configuring, testing, and implementing) tasks associated with the a variety of WLAN / LAN task orders involving wireless network solutions in both classified and non-classified environments. Additionally, the candidate will participate in capturing and analyzing technical requirements; documenting detailed system designs, implementation plans, and operations guides of network systems; participate in both project and operational meetings; providing Tier 3 level support utilizing change control processes. The candidate will also serve as a reach-back to field engineering teams supporting a variety of infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the research and development of existing and new wireless technologies used to optimize and maintain DOD, commercial and corporate and networks. Which include the design, configuration, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of Wireless and LAN components and networks.
- Working with 3rd party and internal departments in integrating wireless equipment with current WAN and security infrastructure.
- Optimizing wireless performance while fulfilling security requirements for user / device authentication, encryption and intrusion detection, i.e. 802.1x RADIUS Authentication using EAP-TLS.
- Responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and modification of wireless network hardware and software. Which include :
- Provides tier 3 support with LAN / WLAN networks, client devices, including hand-held devices and associated LAN and WAN connectivity.
- Responsible for documentation of installed networks, to include systems design, operations and implementations guides, Visio design drawings, etc.
- Maintains the security and integrity of all wireless hardware and software.
