GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the sales and service teams by providing hardware and software training and instruction for color, appearance, dispersion, and physical test products. Support the Retail Color System (RCS) sales efforts and customers.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the sales team and customers by providing hardware and software training by phone, email and personal visits.
- Customer POC for technical support issues.
- Conduct in-person or remote FAT testing and system commissioning.
- Interface with TUV SUD or any other 3rd party UL/CSA inspection team on scheduling UL/CSA inspections and ensure that equipment is installed prior to TUV visit.
- Organize and perform site surveys for dispersion equipment selection and requirements.
- Ensure the service department has the knowledge, tools and offerings to service business lines.
- Responsible for determining the spare parts list required for all dispersion pilot & production-based installations.
- Assist in developing sales tools for the outside team use with customers (videos, material samples, data projects, etc).
- Prepare samples required in the development of a color matching database and test samples for customers.
- Make database adjustments to achieve color matches for the retail environment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly lab and keep lab equipment in working order.
- Maintain subject matter expertise concerning company manufactured products.
- Update and review user manuals and procedures.
- Attend trade shows, meetings and conferences, and give presentations at these events
- Participate in industry organizations, such as ASTM.
- Maintain contact with home office concerning hardware and software improvements and issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and Access; CRM experience desired
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly developed professionalism, judgement and discretion
- Demonstrated interest in learning and giving technical presentations
- Basic knowledge of UL/CSA requirements
Education & Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related required.
- At least two (2) years experience with technical product installation, training and troubleshooting; paint/coatings lab experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with reading electrical and/or mechanical drawings and schematics preferred.
Special Position Requirements (lifting, travel)
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 70 lbs.
- Consistent fine motor/dexterity
- At least 50% overnight travel required
- Must have valid US drivers license and have (or be able to obtain) valid US Passport
- Must have reliable transportation; must be able to transport bulky/heavy equipment to/from airport and in/out of vehicle.
