Job Summary
We are looking for a courteous person that can hold a conversation and knows when it is time to wrap it up and move on. Our delivery drivers are not UPS, FedEx or Uber-Eats folks, they are typical folks over age 25 (auto insurance reasons) up through retiree that wants to drive a few days a week. We currently have routes in Nashville and Memphis requiring 2-3 days a week. We will provide you with a phone that has a fully-featured route navigation software (Circuit for Teams) and Paperwork detailing the items you are delivering. Often, these stops will also have you pick up tooling in need of sharpening, which you will bring back to the shop once the day is complete. Routes are run bi-weekly, so expect to see the same faces quite regularly.
We are a family business that does everything ourselves and we are now looking to add to our team. We will get you trained up quickly as we have repeatable processes for delivery. The last several years have been spent refining our delivery process and we are excited to share these improvements with new team members.
The salesperson will be the primary contact for our customer orders, so there is no need to retain an order sheet. Since pickup and delivery is the entire position, it is important that we find someone who is personable, swift, respectful, and enthusiastic as they are the face of our business. Some of our products are sharp and some are heavy so keep that in mind. You will have between 20-35 stops per day and can work between 2-3 days with possibility of increase. Biggest concern for us is longevity, we want you to come and stay on.
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Route Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. This role requires strong driving skills, the ability to handle heavy lifting, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards on the road.
Duties
- Operate Sprinter Transit Van to deliver products to designated locations efficiently and safely.
- Load and unload goods using equipment such as pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques.
- Ensure all deliveries are made on time while adhering to scheduled routes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients during deliveries.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation as required.
- Assist in warehouse operations when not on the road, including inventory management and organization.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is preferred); experience is a plus.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of driving regulations.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 70 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with moving goods.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and equipment such as pallet jacks is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to safety protocols while driving.
