POSITION SUMMARY
We’re seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Apparel Designer to support our Design team in creating innovative, trend-forward styles across our apparel line. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who thrives in a creative environment and is eager to learn the ins and outs of bringing apparel from concept to customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the design of seasonal collections, from concept through production.
- Create and update technical flats, line sheets, and presentation boards using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Support trend research, color direction, fabric sourcing, and inspiration boards.
- Work with each individual designer to help prepare and upload tech packs.
- Organize and maintain design samples, swatches, and color pantone chips.
- Work up to attending fittings and take notes on any design updates.
- Communicate with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Production, and Marketing to ensure design vision is executed.
- Maintain design data integrity in our PLM.
- Assist on any projects and requests as they come up.
- Stay up-to-date with fashion trends, market competitors, and industry innovations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Associate’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
- 1–2 years of internship or professional experience in apparel design (contemporary, streetwear, activewear, or basics preferred).
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and basic patternmaking.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative spirit with a strong desire to grow in the fashion industry.
- Experience in menswear, unisex, or performance wear.
- Knowledge of PLM or other product lifecycle management tools
- Sketching or CAD rendering ability
- Passion for sustainability and innovative materials
