Job description
- We are looking for an Experienced Gunsmith with a completion of a gunsmith apprenticeship and/or accredited certification program and in-depth knowledge of firearm modification, assembly, repair, and maintenance.
Gunsmiths are service workers who repair and modify firearms to meet their customers’ specifications. They use their specialized knowledge to manufacture or customize rifles to hunt with, compete with, or defend our Country with. To achieve this, a Gunsmith will need to have many different skills. They need to be very familiar with firearms, to start. More specifically, they need to know all of the various components that go into creating a complete rifle; how to precisely build Military, Law Enforcement and Custom rifles.
Gunsmith responsibilities will be to build Remington, Savage, Mauser and many other rifles to blueprint specifications directed by one of the world's most respected firearm designers. The candidate will need to use manual lathes, mills, grinders and machine tools to carry out blueprint builds using the best techniques to build, maintain, and modify to repair our customer's firearms, and the need to keep accurate records documenting what you have done to each firearm. They must also keep all records and documentation for rifles we build for the department of Defense and Law Enforcement Divisions and be familiar with recording FFL Documents. The candidate must maintain the cleanliness of our custom shop.
Requirements:
- Completion of a gunsmith apprenticeship or accredited certification program
- In-depth knowledge of firearm modification, assembly, repair, and maintenance
- Professional appearance and demeanor along with a good attitude while speaking with customers when needed concerning the build.
- Ability to interpret gun blueprints
- Finally, you will be working with some of the finest firearms in the world on any given day that will feed a family, break a World Record, protect a family, or defend our Country here in our custom shop at Cabin Fever Sports.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, repair, and customize firearms according to customer specifications
- Disassemble and reassemble firearms for cleaning, maintenance, or repair
- Perform barrel fitting, chambering, and head spacing
- Install and adjust sights, scopes, and other accessories
- Test fire firearms to ensure proper function and accuracy
- Provide customer service and answer questions about firearms and related accessories
- Keep accurate records of work performed on each firearm
- Use manual lathes, grinders, millers, and other tools to carry out gun modification tasks
- Use the best techniques to maintain, modify, and repair our customers’ firearms
- Keep accurate records documenting what you’ve done to each gun that you work on
- Help us to maintain the cleanliness of our shop
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $32.00 per hour
