Position Overview:
As an Automotive Shop Foreman/Service Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, ensuring the efficient workflow of automotive repairs, and leading a team of skilled technicians. You will also be expected to perform hands-on service work, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles to the highest standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for providing excellent customer service and high-quality repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the automotive repair shop, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of repairs.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of technicians, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting to identify mechanical, electrical, and performance issues.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on all makes and models of vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and more.
- Maintain accurate records of service work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Interact with customers to provide estimates, explain repairs, and ensure satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with parts ordering.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic (5 years preferred).
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role (shop foreman or similar).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- ASE certification or equivalent preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; automotive technical training preferred.
