General Description :
The Raw Lab Milk Receiver is responsible for completing assigned quality-related duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Raw Lab Milk Receiver does this by receiving trailers of bulk products and tests raw and heat-treated dairy ingredients to determine compliance to FDA, NYS regulations, and Byrne Dairy standards. The Raw Lab Milk Receiver completes these functions in the support of the manufacture of dairy-related products.
Job Responsibilities :
- Responsible for achieving assigned goals in the area of production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
- Notifies others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities and begins to identify areas where operators can assist in resolving concerns.
- Responsible for complying with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and / or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
- Aids and supports all areas related to quality as assigned by supervisor / lead.
- Under supervision, receive, test, and determine compliance of all incoming raw dairy and cream trucks all incoming bulk sugars and oils; receive CIP chemical trucks.
- Wash outsides of Byrne Dairy cream trucks and maintain valves and gaskets on trucks.
- Manage farm samples as required by the site.
- Monitor silos for testing and proper rotation by coordinating with shift managers / supervisors for silo selection.
- Maintain cleanliness of alcove rooms, CIP room, tanker bays, and raw lab per cleaning checklists.
- Verify, inspect, and maintain the cleanliness of tankers, silos, tanks, and lines; clean and maintain floor drains in tanker bays and alcove rooms.
- Disassemble and assemble sanitary lines and CIP equipment; CIP monitoring of all systems and effective communication with processing to ensure adequate CIP.
- Maintain raw material records in accordance with Byrne procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and ensure quality standards set by the company for all products being received and tested.
- Identify and label any foreign materials found during unloading or when inspecting in-line screens and report to QA Management.
- Maintain the Receiving Log for the shift worked.
- Assist and maintain professionalism with tanker drivers at all times.
- Maintain communication between additional departments; including, but not limited to maintenance, processing, scheduling, and production – promote and provide excellent customer service with all customers.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate the internal HMI system.
- Cover breaks and lunches and other staffing needs as assigned by their supervisor / lead.
- Compliant with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety on their assigned shift and reports concerning their supervisor / lead.
- Works in a safe manner and reports safety concerns promptly to their supervisor / lead and takes corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
- Responsible for reporting food safety problems and initiating action and for supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.
- Ensures work areas are sanitary and strictly adhere to sanitation practices and requirements.

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Byrne, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $22.50 to $29.00.
