General Description :
The Production Control Manager is responsible for completing assigned duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Production Control Manager does this by ensuring that the plant has all the consumable materials needed for production and production orders are in place. The Production Control Manager also monitors and evaluates the procedures used by management and direct reports to minimize loss / shrink of consumables. The Production Control Manager completes these functions in the support of the manufacture of dairy related products.
Job Responsibilities :
- Review the recommended production schedule from Production Planner and confirm correct quantities are assigned to fulfill customer orders and built to inventories.
- Coordinate plant production schedules with material procurement to ensure needed consumables are on-hand in time for production.
- Coordinate milk, cream and other fluid ingredients to deliver as needed per production plan while maintaining storage PMO’s.
- Work with plant management to develop a daily processing and filling plan (timeline) that focuses on PMO compliance, MUV reduction, efficiency and OTIF shipments to customers.
- Responsible for achieving assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
- Notifies others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities and begins to identify areas where operators can assist in resolving concerns.
- Responsible for complying with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and / or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
- Perform keypunch purchase / inventory data into Oracle.
- Communicate with the plant manager and shift change manager(s) daily.
- Monitor and evaluate the procedures used by management and direct reports to minimize loss / shrink of consumables.
- Implement changes in procedures as necessary to reduce loss.
- Maintain effective relationships with the account representatives and communicate all concerns promptly.
- Oversee all production and finished product movement. Make sure all transactions are correctly carried over to the Oracle. Communicate with appropriate supervisors to report errors / mistakes being made by employees.
- Compliant with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety on their assigned shift and reports concerning their supervisor / lead.
- Works in a safe manner and reports safety concerns promptly to their supervisor / lead and takes corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe environment.
- Responsible for reporting food safety problems and initiating action and for supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.
- Ensures work areas are sanitary and strictly adheres to sanitation practices.
- Communicates effectively between shifts and other departments.
- All other duties assigned by leadership.

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Byrne, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,000 to $116,500.
