General Description :
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for completing assigned duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Sanitation Technician does this by maintaining cleanliness standards inside and outside the warehouse facility which ships, receives, and stores dairy and non-dairy-related products. Tasks include cleaning facility, work environment, and equipment. Responsible for performing all required operating procedures along with efficiently and effectively running all facility sanitation equipment including vacuum, mop, broom, floor scrubber, etc.
Job Responsibilities :
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of assigned and immediate areas.
- Maintain and follow a set of sanitary checklists.
- Complete and maintain official documents as required.
- OSafely operate necessary equipment
- Cleaning warehouse to set procedures, cleaning all general office / break room areas, restrooms, and any other areas as needed both indoors and outdoors.
- Wear applicable PPE as required for job tasks.
- Handle chemicals and understand SDS requirements for chemicals required for job tasks.
- Communicates effectively between shifts and other departments
- Responsible for achieving assigned goals in the areas of production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
- Notifies others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities and begins to identify areas where operators can assist in resolving concerns.
- Responsible for complying with GWP’s, SOP’s, corporate and / or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
- Provides assistance and support to all areas in the production facility as assigned by supervisor / lead and begins to train and build competence in key areas in the warehouse such as forklift operations
- Compliant with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety on their assigned shift and reported concerns to their supervisor / lead.
- Responsible for reporting food safety problems and initiating action and for supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.
- Utilize a continuous improvement mindset and assist in identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Follow all safety requirements to include, Housekeeping, Lock Out / Tag Out, PPE, and engage in facility safety efforts.
- All other duties as assigned by leadership.

The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Byrne, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $19.00 to $24.50.
