Byrne Media South Hill, VA (WWDW, The Lake 107.7 FM) is looking for a proven Talk Radio Host. Candidate will be responsible for hosting a daily radio program focused on delivering news, commentary, and analysis from a LOCAL perspective. This individual will engage with listeners, interview guests, and present a compelling narrative that aligns with a local focused agenda. The host will also monitor current events, research topics, and prepare content to ensure the program remains informative, relevant, and engaging.

Responsibilities :

Host daily radio program covering news and current events.
Research and prepare content, including topics, talking points, and interview questions.
Engage with listeners through phone calls, emails, and social media platforms.
Conduct interviews with guests, including political figures, experts, and commentators.
Present clear and articulate commentary on political, social, and cultural issues.
Monitor news sources and stay informed about relevant developments.
Collaborate with producers, engineers, and other team members to ensure smooth operation of the program.
Adhere to station guidelines, including FCC regulations and company policies.
Participate in promotional activities and station events as required.
Stay updated on audience feedback and adjust content accordingly to maintain listener satisfaction.
Work with the station advertising department to facilitate and execute ad campaigns for station clients.
When requested, provide voice overs for commercial production. Assist with production in General.

Qualifications :

Strong knowledge of local, regional, and national current events.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Previous experience in radio broadcasting or public speaking preferred.

Ability to think critically and analyze complex issues.

Comfortable engaging with diverse audiences and viewpoints.

Proficiency with audio editing software and broadcast equipment.

Flexible schedule, including availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Passion for talk radio and a commitment to delivering high-quality content.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Manual dexterity for operating broadcasting equipment.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for equipment setup and breakdown.

Working Conditions :

Fast-paced studio environment with tight deadlines.

Exposure to live radio broadcasting and on-air pressure.

Occasional travel may be required for remote broadcasts or station events.
