Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in repairing and restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role involves assessing vehicle damage, performing repairs, and collaborating with other team members to deliver timely and professional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess vehicle damage to determine necessary repairs.
- Perform structural, cosmetic, and mechanical repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Repair or replace damaged body panels, frames, doors, and other components.
- Straighten vehicle frames using specialized equipment.
- Sand, buff, and prime surfaces to prepare for painting.
- Match and blend paint colors to achieve a seamless finish.
- Reinstall vehicle components, such as trim, moldings, and glass, after repairs.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors, customers, and other team members.
- Keep accurate records of repairs and parts used.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as an auto body repair technician.
- Proficiency with auto body tools and equipment (frame machines, sanders, welders, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of vehicle structures and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders and technical manuals.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with paintless dent repair (PDR).
- Knowledge of modern vehicle technologies, including aluminum and high-strength steel repairs.
- Certification from I-CAR, ASE, or similar organizations.
