What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Director position at Byron Center Public Schools?
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Administration or related field.
- Successful experience with aquatic facility coordination, staff supervision and education, maintenance, pool operation, familiarity with risk management concepts and other aspects of pool management, including broad based aquatic programming.
- Certifications in:
- Lifeguarding
- USA Swim Coach
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- A leadership style which will generate trust, confidence, and enthusiasm among students, staff members, and parents

POSITION SUMMARY:
- Develops, directs, and coordinates USA and youth swimming programs for the Byron Center Public School District and community.
- Procure, train, and supervise personnel for pool operations and programming.
- Has responsibility for communication between the BCPS Athletic Department, High School Administration, and the Byron Center Community as it relates to pool operations.
- Has responsibility for ensuring that Byron Center Public Schools are meeting all safety standards required by state and federal law in operating the pool
- Coordinates scheduling of the pool and registration for all swimming lessons and other swim programs.
