Datacenter Network Technician L2 (Contract)

Position Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled Datacenter Network Technician L2  for a contract position until the end of the year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fiber testing, provisioning, cable management, and assisting with network/server deployment and maintenance. This role requires hands-on expertise in fiber optics, physical cabling, troubleshooting, and configuring network infrastructure components. 

Pay Range: $30 - $35 

Contract Duration: Until the end of the year. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Fiber Testing & Installation 

• Utilize OTDR, LSPM, BER, OSA, and other fiber testing/cleaning tools for diagnostics and reporting. 
• Install and provision cables or optics for new circuits. 
• Perform physical cabling, cable management, and labeling. 

 Break-Fix & Technical Support 

• Identify and repair high-loss/broken fiber using OTDR/LSPM/VFL. 
• Replace faulty optical cables and perform fiber cleaning. 
• Conduct Optical Spectrum Analysis, BER testing, and MPO fiber testing. 
• Assist with RMA processing, remote access setup, and replacing defective components. 
• Perform router, server, and storage reboots, as well as cable reseating and replacement. 

 Deployment & Configuration 

• Deploy and configure physical/virtual servers, storage, and backup devices. 
• Handle power distribution units, UPS (up to 3KVA), earthing, and HVAC systems. 
• Install and configure network switches, SAN fabric switches, firewalls, WAN optimization devices, and KVM units. 
• Provide remote assistance for network and security infrastructure. 
• Conduct site surveys as needed. 

Requirements: 

• Experience with fiber optic testing, network troubleshooting, and rack & stack operations. 
• Hands-on knowledge of data center infrastructure, including cabling, labeling, and asset tagging. 
• Familiarity with power systems, HVAC, and hardware components. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Ability to collaborate with network and server teams.
