About The Team
ByteDance Networking brings together innovative ideas and technologies from network architecture, software defined networking (SDN), network virtualization, switch software and hardware co-design, and high-speed networking, to create hyper-scale data-center networking solutions that power several of the most popular apps of the world such as Douyin and TikTok which serve hundreds of millions of users around the globe.
Network engineering SDN team, has been committed to the development and research in network traffic and routing control technologies and provide distributed software system to help manage and operate ByteDance’s global network.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $410000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
The Company reserves the right to modify or change these benefits programs at any time, with or without notice.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop server-side QOS marking and rate limit control system to cover multiple networks.
- Operation for bandwidth enforcer over business’s traffic and solve issues in production.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent with two or more years of work experience
- Good developing experience with one or more following languages: Golang/Python/C , familiar with design and development for distributed system.
- A solid understanding of Linux network stack, experience in Linux TC, iptables and eBPF.
- Familiarity with Linux operating system, hands-on experience working in Linux environment.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and other common networking protocols.
- Good understanding of network devices and network technologies.
- Strong debugging and problem solving skills;
- Experiences in developing large scale control system;
- Experiences in big data processing, familiar with Redis/RDS.
