Directional Drill Operator (Drilling Operator)

Horizontal Directional Drill Operator

What You'll Do:

• Confirm bore path with foreman and drill operator (including walking the bore path)
• Perform job site analysis (JSA) including completion of paperwork
• Ensure there are proper clearances to install the product per standards
• Record the depth of the tool head as required
• Ensure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product
• May oversee laborers and/or crew member’s work and monitor time usage.

Qualifications:

• 1 years experience in locating for HDD
• Good verbal communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License (Class A Driver’s License (CDL) preferred)
• Valid DOT Health Card

Education:

• High School, Some college or vocational school a plus
• Military experience a plus

Physical Demands:

• Must be physically fit to endure the daily activity involved with the job
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Work Environment:

• Must perform work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to prioritize multiple projects and perform under pressure
• Must negotiate timeframes for completion and meet critical deadlines
• Must be willing and able to work with other coworkers to complete job assignments
