SUMMARY:
The Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for implementing efficient, high technology organization machining and assembly methods to achieve goals related to cost savings, OTD, and scrap reduction. This role entails developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods which will be achieved through partnering with management and team members of all levels in our production and assembly departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Drive continuous improvement projects to improve, cost, quality and delivery.
- Improve current operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings to drive bottom line savings
- Utilize experience of fixture/product design, materials, fabrication, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and value stream mapping to establish key projects and obtain goals
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process issues to reduce scrap
- Investigate operational problems affecting production and develop solutions for LEAN production flow
- Develop and monitor working instructions, workmanship standards and process documents
- Provide technical expertise to teams
- Liaise with production planner/scheduler to ensure released products have adequate BOM and routings
- Manage manufacturing documentation required for product manufacturing i.e. revise drawing, BOM, accurate work
- Work to improve instructions and workmanship standards through process procedures
- Monitor and measure progress to target
- Organize, implement and maintain production process flow in NPI and CNC departments
- Identify ways to reduce production costs through recommendations and research
- Work with other relevant departments to determine estimated costs, run time, cost reduction and close the feedback loop
- Liaise with suppliers on manufacturing process
- Train and supervise staff on new development processes and technology
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent preferred
- 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
- 2 years minimum CNC machining experience
- Fixture design and implementation is a must
- Solidworks or comparable CAD software
- Proven track record and working knowledge in a manufacturing industry
- Good knowledge of cell custom build, lean Manufacturing, six sigma and ISO methodology
