General Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Weld/fabricate metal components/structures using relevant techniques (MIG, TIG, and Stick welding) with a focus on quality
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop and design drawings to fabricate metal
- Position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
- Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material
- Inspect all work for defects, dimensions, alignment, and end preparations; report discrepancies to management to sustain quality assurance standards and requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is a plus!
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools, including drills, lathes, mills, plasma cutters, bandsaws and grinders
- Collaborate with other team members to complete project requirements on time
- Follow all relevant safety requirements and regulations
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally
- AWS Certification preferred
- Previous experience working in a shop, manufacturing, or fabrication environment a plus
- Frequently required to stand, use hands to hold hand and power tools, finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear. Work also requires the ability to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs
