Job Title: Lead Solar Electrician
Job Description: The lead solar installer will be responsible for installing and instructing solar installers on safe, and code compliant PV and energy storage electrical installations.
Qualifications
· 2 years of experience installing and maintaining PV systems
· Valid driver’s license
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Must have a variety of tools of the trade including the most recent National Electric Code (NEC)
- Ability to read and understand electrical blueprints, schematics and diagrams and reference the NEC for electrical code
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems
- Current RW or Journeyman license (preferred)
- NABCEP certification (preferred)
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Install and repair roof and ground mounted PV system and energy storage systems including roof attachments, racking, solar modules, inverters, conduit and wiring
· Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows National Electrical Code, any relevant blueprints and other required standards.
· Test and commission PV systems.
· Assign, oversee and inspect the electrical work performed by electrical apprentices.
· Comply with laws and regulations pertaining to safety to include OSHA, MSHA, state and fire codes.
· On a daily basis, complete required documentation of work completed and materials used.
· Perform other related duties as assigned,
· Maintain a clean work environment on site and in company vehicles.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to traverse and work in all areas of a jobsite in all types of weather. This includes, but is not limited to, prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, and bending.
- Must be able to work at various heights from ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts and roofs.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Exposure to characteristic construction dangers
- Must be able to see colors to discern color-coded wiring
- Required to work at each job location, working from home is not available
Salary Range:
$26-$32/hr.
