Kitchen Aid (Kosher Meal Prep & Cleaning)
Job Location: Edison NJ
Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Operation Manager and Head Chef
Position Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Aid to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of Kosher meals, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and supporting the culinary staff in daily operations. A basic understanding of English is required to follow instructions and communicate effectively in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Kosher Meal Preparation:
Assist in preparing ingredients and meals following Kosher guidelines and recipes provided by the chef. This may include chopping vegetables, marinating meats, measuring ingredients, and other prep tasks.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Assist in cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, countertops, and other areas of the kitchen at the end of each shift. Ensure the kitchen is kept organized and safe for staff.
Supporting Kitchen Operations:
Help with stocking supplies, organizing food storage, and setting up kitchen stations for meal preparation. Ensure that food safety and hygiene protocols are followed at all times.
Dishwashing and Kitchen Maintenance:
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment during and after food preparation. Ensure the kitchen remains clean and free of clutter throughout the day.
Communication:
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn Kosher food preparation practices.
- Ability to understand and speak English, with the ability to follow instructions.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 40 lbs).
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations is a plus.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and assist where needed.
Schedule:
7am-4pm Monday- Thursday, 7am- 12pm Fridays. Full-time hours only.
