C. A. Rasmussen, Inc., believes that our people are our greatest asset, and we are seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Hauler to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who works well in a fast-paced environment, is hardworking, and extremely confident operating heavy equipment. This position is responsible for properly moving heavy equipment through all phases of the operation and ensuring equipment is delivered and picked up timely, efficiently, and safely.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for loading and unloading heavy equipment, materials, and tools ensuring that load is secure prior to transport.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection on truck and trailer per Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT) guidelines.
- Operate vehicle in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal and State regulations.
- Drive single vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more; the operator may tow a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,001 pounds or more.
- Review Vehicle Inspection Reports (VIR) and report any safety issues to dispatch.
- Load, chain, and bind the equipment to the truck
- Minor vehicle maintenance (e.g. fueling, adding fluids, changing bulbs, etc.)
- Work with the dispatcher to deliver equipment via the most efficient route.
- Record and report any customer or driver damage to the equipment.
- Review, signs, and maintains appropriate copies of all tickets, trip sheets, driver, or vehicle maintenance logs.
- Oversee the care and maintenance of assigned trucks and trailers.
- Ensure trucks are kept clean and free of clutter, ensures proper licensing and inspections are kept current and coordinates the necessary maintenance and repairs of equipment.
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
Position Requirements
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Clean driving record, specifically with water truck, dump truck, end dump, and low bed experience
- 5 years' experience transporting all types of heavy equipment - specifically, motor graders, skid steers, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators
- Good sense of direction
- Ability to work with tie down equipment such as chains, straps, and other securement methods
- Ability to work well in challenging environments such as traffic, weather, delivery locations, and road conditions
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- The level of physical effort may vary from site to site in some cases, be greater or lesser than documented here
- Must be able to pass a DOT Medical Physical and possess a valid medical certificate
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds at a time
Salary: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour depending on experience
