What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Advisor position at C & B Powersports?
Join our team as a Service Advisor and be the key connection between customers and our service department! You'll greet customers, asses their needs, recommend services, and keep them informed throughout the process. This role involves managing work orders, scheduling, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring a smooth, efficient experience. Typical hours are 9am-6pm Tuesday-Saturday with the flexibility to work outside regular business hours for special events, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers, listen to their concerns regarding their vehicles, and gather relevant information to accurately describe service needs.
- Service Recommendations: Based on customer concerns and vehicle inspections, provide recommendations for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Scheduling: Schedule service appointments, ensuring that customer needs and shop capacity align.
- Work Order Management: Create, maintain, and update work orders for repairs and services. Ensure that work orders are accurately documented and billed.
- Parts and Inventory Management: Work closely with the parts department to ensure that necessary parts are available for repairs and service.
- Service Documentation: Maintain detailed records of services performed, parts used, and labor hours.
- Invoice and Payment Processing: Ensure that invoices are accurate and review charges with customers before processing payments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with technicians and the service manager to ensure timely and accurate completion of services.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service, service advisor, or automotive-related role is preferred. Experience with powersports vehicles is a plus!
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of powersports vehicles (motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs., etc.) and their maintenance requirements.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, address concerns, and provide exceptional service.
- Technical Understanding: Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, repairs, and parts used in powersports vehicles.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Sales Skills: Ability to recommend additional products and services to customers.
- Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with dealership software and service management systems.
Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to stand for extended periods, and some physical labor may be required, especially in the case of moving or inspecting large vehicles.
- Ability to work in various conditions, as the work environment may include both an office and a shop floor.
