Our current opening is for a Network Services Field Engineer (Technician) in our Lenexa office. The Network Services Field Engineer is responsible for providing customers with the highest quality of service possible and assuring customer satisfaction. The Network Services Field Engineer’s role is to ensure that industry best practices are applied to design, deployment and operations of customer’s specific environments. This individual provides technical guidance and leadership to the customer and project team and ensures project timelines are being met.
- Responsible for planning, installing and maintaining network/server infrastructure solutions and hardware on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Creates Statements of Work (SOW's) for proposals and installations plans for a detailed and organized implementation plan.
- Deploys, migrates, and documents post-sales engagement with customers based on C&C Group best practices.
- Assists in the delivery of customer support and other provided services as expected by customer.
- Investigate, identify, and troubleshoot issues within client environments ranging from desktop support to server infrastructure to wireless survey to network congestion.
- Stay fluent in network, VOIP, IT Security, Wireless, Server and Storage technologies like Microsoft server, VMWare, and other technologies.
- Experience with active directory, exchange, DHCP, DNS, and other server roles and features.
- VMware, Hyper-V or Citrix Virtualization experience.
- Create and maintain documentation on client systems, networks and server infrastructure including Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and Visio drawings.
- Must be comfortable in communicating on the phone and in person with clients, other departments, and other vendors.
- Works well in a team driven environment.
- Able to work with basic hand tools and climb ladders when necessary.
- Regular travel requirements to client sites with occasional out of town trips -25%.
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends when required and in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Final candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation, including criminal and motor vehicle check.
